This ocean-floor themed/time-travel fantasy is a concept that began when I was three years old, beginning with an actual nighttime Atlantic Ocean floating experience to my imagining scenes and episodes from the cloud shapes that formed in the sky above my paternal Grandparents’ home where I was raised in Houston, Texas USA. Over six decades later, after many detours in my personal and professional life my original childhood ideas evolved into the preview that was presented at the Hall For Cornwall Playhouse in November 2022. In the performance were 67 cast members plus a team of 15 visual and audio production creatives. Additional to their salary expenses were audio, staging and film projection equipment plus rehearsal room hires, alongside transport, accommodation and catering costs. Most workers were paid below minimum wage. Some worked pro bono. Although the performance was well received by the Cornwall Playhouse audience, having the budget to facilitate a full delivery of the production will do more than just enable a complete performance of the work, it will expand opportunities for emerging and established artists in the evolution of Dramatic Music Storytelling Art Culture in the theatre world.

The MELIOR Opus Griot Market is how Carleen can earn income for her work as the music composer, arranger, score writer, librettist/lyricist, curator, website designer, plus, pre-production and post production operations. So far, this crowdfunding website has enabled the financing of three music scenes to be professionally recorded in a studio. The MOBOCRACY scene is currently the only item listed in the MELIOR Opus Griot Market. Once funds are raised to pay the expenses for professionally mixing the audio so that a MELIOR Opus Griot Double Album can be released online, as well as the physical manufacturing of Vinyl copies, a MELIOR Opus Griot e-Book that tells the story of MELIOR, along with the MELIOR Opus Griot Music Score, Libretto/Lyrics and copies of Carleen’s handwritten chord charts and scheduling online Vocal lessons with Carleen, will be available for purchase via the MELIOR Opus Griot Market, to enable Carleen to continue her work.
